Lottery Systems

Written by ThreadOfTheDay.com on April 30, 2008 in: lottery | Tags: ,

This is why some people spend too much money on the lottery. They believe there are special systems that can accurately predict the next winning numbers by looking at previous drawings.

In this forum thread at lotterypost.com, a member reveals he has a new system that is accurate 85% of the time and when it misses, it is usually close.

http://www.lotterypost.com/thread/172364/1

Of course, the number he predicts does not come up, but that must just be the other 15% kicking in or he has made a mistake in the calculation.

The next prediction he makes is for 628 to hit in the Pennsylvania evening drawing. It doesn’t hit, but does hit a couple days later in the daytime drawing.

Coincidence? Yes. But the other members think he is on to something. After that he gets sort of close once, then you never hear anything about this “system” again.

So the members start following other systems posted in the forum.

Breakfast In Bed

Written by ThreadOfTheDay.com on April 28, 2008 in: animals | Tags: , , ,

Isn’t it great when a loved one serves you breakfast in bed? What a wonderful way to start the day.

Well, maybe not if that loved one is a cat.

As you can see in this thread, they seem to have different ideas on what you should eat.

Oh well, it’s the thought that counts.

Toothbrush In Toilet

Written by ThreadOfTheDay.com on April 27, 2008 in: do-it-yourself | Tags: , , ,

A member at the DoItYourself.com forum is seeking advice. He thinks he may have a toothbrush stuck in his toilet and it is causing problems.  Toothbrushes can be very difficult to remove and often require taking the toilet from it’s fixture. Even then you may not be able to get it out.

Well, in post #4 of this do-it-yourself thread an engineering student has an ingenious solution.

falcon cam cleveland

Congratulations to Buckeye and SW. They are now proud parents of four baby peregrine falcons.  The fourth was hatched today and the other three earlier in the week.

The parents have been nesting in a skyscraper in Cleveland for seven years and the members of this falcon cam forum at falconcam-cmnh.org have been anxiously waiting for the newest chicks arrival.

In this thread they give up to the minute updates and share latest screen captures from the cam.

United 93 Did Not Crash

Written by ThreadOfTheDay.com on April 25, 2008 in: conspiracy | Tags: , , , , ,

The conspiracy wackos at AboveTopSecret.com would like you to believe that Flight United 93 did not crash on September 11th, 2001.

They have “proof” from very “reliable” sources (other conspiracy websites) that there was no plane crash in Shanksville, PA.  The government dropped a bomb to make it look like a crash scene. But of course the members of this forum are much too brilliant to fall for this trick. (Wouldn’t it have been just as easy and more realistic to crash a decoy plane?)

Here is the thread:

http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread320973/pg1

So what happened to the passengers that remain missing? They deplaned on that fateful day at a NASA hangar in Cleveland and are being held prisoner to this day, of course.

Why did the government do this? I am not quite sure why they think this. Maybe somehow it helped make the rest of the 9/11 conspiracy more believable? After all, that makes more sense to them than the fact that there may be people in the world who don’t like the United States and want to harm us.

Keep in mind the members of this forum also believe Elvis is still alive, the Moon landing was a hoax, and Freemasons control the Universe.

If they read this little blog, they would probably find “proof” that I am actually part of the coverup to debunk these clever people and I am Donald Rumsfeld’s top aid.

Oops, I think I just said too much.

Lost Watching “Lost”?

Written by ThreadOfTheDay.com on April 24, 2008 in: television | Tags: , , ,

Are you a casual fan of ABC’s television show “Lost”?

If you like the show, but are not a die-hard fan that spends your days studying every character and event, it can sometimes be confusing.

I suggest getting live, play by play, analysis at lost-forum.com. The “Lost” experts there discuss each episode as it is being aired.

Here they discuss tonight’s episode.

Teen Love

Written by ThreadOfTheDay.com on April 23, 2008 in: relationships | Tags: , , , ,

Ah, to be a teenager again in love.

Here in the teenhut.com forum a girl has a crush on a cool, guitar playing, older boy (older by six months).

In this thread she discusses how he politely turned her down.

Don’t be too sad, though. Later in the thread, we find out that they get together. Don’t you just love happy endings?

Sharp Aquos D64U Calibrations

Written by ThreadOfTheDay.com on April 22, 2008 in: electronics | Tags: , , , , ,

Do you own a big screen, lcd, hd tv?

The picture probably looks great, but I am sure you have played with the remote and seen all the settings that can be changed. Brightness, contrast, color, sharpness, black, backlight,  temperature, etc. ”Hmm, maybe I can make it look even better.” you think to yourself.

What are the ultimate settings? The audio/video geeks at avsforum.com share theirs. You can probably find any tv in their forum. In this thread they discuss the Sharp Aquos.

Alcohol And Golf

Written by ThreadOfTheDay.com on April 21, 2008 in: sports | Tags: , ,

Does drinking help you play golf better?

Some of the members in this thread at thesandrap.com forum think a little alcohol can relax you, and that helps you golf better.

http://thesandtrap.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9805

I think the drinks only make you feel you are playing better.  If you do play better, than you probably weren’t a good golfer to begin with.

I wonder what John Daly’s opinion is on this.
