Long Island Graffiti

In this thread, graffiti “artists” show off their latest works of vandalism in Long Island, New York. They sure seem awefully proud of themselves for leaving their tag.

I don’t know why they get off on this. They remind me of dogs leaving their mark. I would rather see dog pee on my wall. It’s slightly more classy and at least it washes off in the rain.

Why cant they just do it on paper?I dont need to see that crap on my way to work every day.Its an eyesore.
YEA DO IT ON PAPER TOYZZZZZZZ
Maybe we should start a paper drive. Donate paper to the graffiti artists so they will leave the buildings alone.
Whats wrong with you people? theres a booming art culture around you and all you want to do is supress it. Why not give these kids places they cant actually paint, thats been proven to lower the damage to the actual streets.
You people have the same mentality as the KKK, you fear that which you dont understand; and since you dont understand it you want to supress it.
If you think its so stupid go out and get yourself some spraycans and a piece of drywall. See how easy it is to do what graffiti artists do.
I like art as much as the next person. Some graffiti is actually very well done. I could never do the awesome job some do. Most of it just ugly, eyesore tagging, like the one in the picture above. A five year old could do that.
However, none of it belongs on other’s property unless they give permission. Just because a person likes to do something, doesn’t give them a right to do it to somebody else. Even Michelangelo had to get permission to paint the ceiling on the Sistine Chapel.
I might like the looks and sounds of a window shattering into a thousand pieces. That does not give me the right to throw bricks through people’s houses.
If graffiti is your thing, cover your home’s walls with it. You have the right. Or, as you suggest, get your own piece of drywall to do your artwork. Do not vandalize other people’s property.
graffiti is the bomb
Graffiti makes kids get back at all you adults.
Graffiti give people a community that is nothing like yours.
nah son throw ya shit up whats good
graffiti is a way of saying fuck all of you
the third comment is right. the reason for graffiti is solely based on the writers lack of paper in their household. with the paper donated to the writers of long island, i guarantee our streets will be 200% cleaner in weeks!
YO….IM MAPE! A TAGGER AND I DNT THINK GRAFFITI IZ BAD, ALL U PEOPLE THINK ABOUT US IZ THAT WE ARE ALL DIRTY LITTLE HOODS WHO GO AROUND AND WRECK YOU PEOPLE SHIT UP..WHICH NOT REALY WE DO THAT SHIT TO EXPRESS OUR SELVES ABOUT HOW WE WOULD LIKE TO GET UP AND HAVE OUR NAME AROUND……GRAFFITI IZ ART NOT A CRIME AND GRAFFITTI IZ STREET ART FROM BACK AND THE DAYZ WEN RAP WAS CREATED I KNOW MY SHIT SO ALL U PEOPLE WHO DNT AGREE FREAK YALL” BUT FOR ALL MY GRAFFITI VANDALS KEEP YA HEADS” UP AND WACTH YALL” BACK FROM THE PIGS….MAPE!
graffiti is an art. the streets are our canvas. writers like me dont do it on paper because there is no other feeling like throwin a tag doin a throwie or a real nice piece. its for fame.
bombing is a culture….im addicted thats y i dont stop if uwant the truth….when people are on the train or walking n see my shit they know wut it is n who was there…….
Not trying to be really hard core but I like graffiti. Everyday their are your surroundings you didn’t design them or plan them. Taggers put there name up for fame but the main thing is it’s their own influence on their outer surroundings. You have a say in what you do or change. That is why billboards, power boxes and trains get hit the most they’re ugly flat surfaces. Id rather look at someone’s art than an ad, or someones scribble or stencil than an ugly green box. Even their tag name has a major role in their life. My usual tag is VOID. I hate looking at these things i feel they shouldn’t exist. They’re should be a void in that space not some ad or box. It’s not like I’m just scribbling my name up just for the fame or to be recognized. I’m doing it hoping to change peoples views on things. I’m putting up stencils, and blocked letters. Its my influence on my surroundings, they just feel like an eyesore and no one notices them. I just want people to see what they look like with art on them. My stuff would be called art but because I don’t get a permit or the right to always put my stuff up I am called a vandalist. Get ready Long Island, I’m about to bomb shit up.
Forgot to add this
The stories and information posted are artistic works of fiction and falsehood.
Only a fool would take anything posted here as fact.

“leave your mark on the world”
i bet half you pussys cant even read that tag u fuckin faggots. graffitis art. not vandalism. suck it the fuck up and deal with it.
Graffiti is vandalism and thats the way it fucking should be
Tha long island graffiti scene is startin to get crazy espcially in the farmingville area
LOL I don’t think giving out paper would help since paint is more expensive anyway. Besides a lot of people out here in Eastern Suffolk definately have the money; the problem with doing it on paper is that nobody else sees it XP
you people complaining make no sense at all “its an eyesore” what? the thousands of coke adds, Victoria secret, dove, strip club billboards. none of that is?find out who the real pollutant of the world is . its big business companies littering your minds with worthless crap. not people who work years on a hand-style and a name that means something unlike Twinkies. graffiti lets people know we still have some kind of hand on authority. and before you go calling us all dirt bags and juvenile delinquents, find out the real meaning of graffiti before you go blabbering on about something you don’t know. and one more thing. I’ve payed just enough taxes over my life to get rid of the graffiti i do because this lie that the media tells you that it takes a thousand dollars to clean paint of a wall is a lie, they sand blast it off in twenty minutes with a fifteen year old piece of machinery that the town bought in bulk. I am a hard working full time college student with a high school diploma working on being either a journalist or a graphic designer, not a menace to society. Get your stuff right, and by the way, you don’t want to see my graffiti? i don’t want to see your yard sale posters or anything.. that’s graffiti to. Hippocrates

Everyone has a different opinion as to what art really is.
Some see a beautiful building and see it.. others enjoy looking at fine art such as picasso or monet in stuffy galleries. Myself, i enjoy writing on a wall, going against the grain. Most naysayers never had the stones to go out and express themselves in an artistic way. They choose to follow the heard like lemmings until one day they’re rocking back ‘n forth in an old age home wishing they would’ve done something different.
Haha we are rebels with a cause! something to say in this world and if “destroying” property is the only way to get it accross then that’s what we will do!!! mwahaha
long island graffiti! fuck u bitches complainin if it kills u so much buff it but we will come right bak n tag it
sinserly yours

Graffiti gives the town jobs
SHUT UP PUSSYS
Graffitti is lacking GREATLY in the Stony Brook/ Setauket areas… If any artists are on the area, don’t be afraid to throw something up! The police around here aren’t focused on graffiti AT ALL, and tags, throw ups, even big projects are all crazy easy to do. The only thing is some kids go out and tag on like nice bridges and actually historic buildings…Tagging a 7-11 is acceptable, doing a throw up on a historically important building is just gay, and really toy-ish
if graffitis a crime, i might do life
Hey Cricket, You want to show me around and go bombing. I would go bombing up their.
