Pinning Butterflies

A new insect collector at InsectNet.com shows her second attempt at pinning a butterfly. She wants to know how to improve this skill and the other entomologists offer their advice.

    At flutterbugz we do demonstrations and expert instruction on mounting pinning and presneting butterflies, moths and other insects..

    the first thing we teach is to maintain hands free set-up.
    we also help prevent scale loss by using the proper implement..
    most implements need to be modified to the hand of the preparer.

    Another aspect is the setting board. beginners should opt for foam boards…
