Earthbox is a great product for growing perfect vegetables, especially if you live in an apartment. It uses an automatic watering system so you don’t have to worry about over/under watering. I just ordered one and I can’t wait start my mini patio garden.

Earthbox.com has a forum for fans to share their experiences with the Earthbox.

In this thread, a Chicago man shows off his rooftop garden.

Divorce Generator

Written by ThreadOfTheDay.com on March 15, 2009 in: marriage | Tags: , , , , , ,

This has to be an awkward situation.

A couple is going through a divorce. The divorce is only days away from being finalized, and yet they still live in the same household.

They both refuse to pay the electric bill, so he threatens to run a generator instead. One day he fires it up, and the fumes get into the house and irritates her and the dogs.

Remind me to never get married.

By the way, STBX means “soon to be ex”. I had to look it up. It’s not the stock symbol for Starbucks. That would be SBUX. Yes, I just looked that up, too.

Laundry Tax

TaxAlmanac.com has a forum where accountants discuss tax issues. In this thread, the tax man wants to know if his client, a massage therapist, can deduct doing laundry in her home machine. She has been deducting $4.00 per load.

Yes, it might cost that much at a laundromat, but $4.00 seems high to me. I’m not a professional, so there is a good chance I am wrong, but I have learned a few thing by doing my own taxes with software. I think at best, she could deduct a percentage of the depreciation on the washing machine, and deduct the laundry detergent if she purchased separate products for her business washings. Deducting part of the water bill would not be possible unless she is able to claim a home office, which isn’t always easy to do.

Another member couldn’t resist inserting a “happy endings” are messy joke.

Here is a link to download tax software:
