Cat that looks like Hitler

Cat that looks like Hitler

Just when I thought I have seen websites that cover every possible topic, I find CatsThatLookLikeHitler.com.

It’s exactly what it sounds like. A website completely dedicated to cats that look like Adolph Hitler. They call them kitlers.

No, the members of this website are not skinhead fans of Hitler. They are just cat lovers who can’t help seeing the resemblance their furry friends have with him.

In this thread, the members critique the Hitlerness of one of the more popular kitlers.

I guess it isn’t as simple as sticking a pin in it like thumbtacking a message on a bulletin board.

Some hunters find the experience to be very unpleasant. Others say it’s no big deal. If you can’t handle it, you shouldn’t be hunting.

Warning: some of the details in the thread are not for the squeamish.

In this thread at furtopia.org, the furries discuss their unusual encounters with real wild animals such as squirrels or birds.

Putting Lucky The Dog To Sleep

Written by ThreadOfTheDay.com on October 1, 2008 in: animals | Tags: , , , , ,

Today’s Thread of the Day is an emotional one.

http://www.dogforums.com/2-general-dog-forum/36766-will-wednesday-12-30-a.html

A woman at dogforums.com has to go through the pain of putting her long time friend Lucky the dog to sleep today at 12:30. Lucky has been at her side for 18 years, since she was in the fourth grade. The other forum members do their best to comfort her.

So sad, but I’m sure Lucky will be in a better place now.

Isla Mujeres Dolphin Rescue

Written by ThreadOfTheDay.com on May 24, 2008 in: animals | Tags: , , , , , ,

ThreadOfTheDay.com will be offline for about a week as I am going on vacation.

So today’s thread goes to a forum about my destination, Isla Mujeres, Mexico. It’s a small island off the coast of Cancun.

The topic in this one is a dramatic dolphin rescue. The dolphin appears to have been injured in a fight with another dolphin. Because of it’s injuries and exhaustion, the dolphin got beached. Luckily, islanders spotted it and were able to save the dolphin.

Here is the thread:

ThreadOfTheDay.com will be back in about a week, maybe sooner if I have extra time and an internet connection at the airports.

Have a safe Memorial Day weekend.

Breakfast In Bed

Written by ThreadOfTheDay.com on April 28, 2008 in: animals | Tags: , , ,

Isn’t it great when a loved one serves you breakfast in bed? What a wonderful way to start the day.

Well, maybe not if that loved one is a cat.

As you can see in this thread, they seem to have different ideas on what you should eat.

Oh well, it’s the thought that counts.

Congratulations to Buckeye and SW. They are now proud parents of four baby peregrine falcons.  The fourth was hatched today and the other three earlier in the week.

The parents have been nesting in a skyscraper in Cleveland for seven years and the members of this falcon cam forum at falconcam-cmnh.org have been anxiously waiting for the newest chicks arrival.

In this thread they give up to the minute updates and share latest screen captures from the cam.

Daytime Weasels

Here is a thread discussing the threat of daytime weasels.

No, they are not talking about backstabing co-workers, but I’m sure there is a thread on that somewhere, too.
