<p>Scouting, in this case Boy Scouts or Cub Scouts or something similar, can be a great learning and growing experience for a young man.</p>
<p>The original poster is concerned that a dad is too involved in his son&#8217;s troop. The dad means well, and doesn&#8217;t seem to be trying to interfere, but maybe the son relies on him as sort of a security blanket on outings. He isn&#8217;t able to become dependent which is one of the objectives of the trips.</p>
<p>This thread is a very good discussion on whether this is actually a problem or not.</p>
