There is a popular website where the topic is nothing but hockey fights. It is called, what else, HockeyFights.com. They actually keep very detailed stats.

In the forums, they discuss fights as they happen, comment on them, and declare a winner.

Right now, the Philadelphia Flyers are playing the Pittsburgh Penguins. There was a fight between the Flyers’ Riley Cote and the Penguins’ Eric Godard. Just moments after the fight finished, this thread lit up with dozens of excited fight fans.

Even though the hockey season just started, many fans are calling it the fight of the year. Some called it a draw while others say Eric Godard was the winner. I give the slight edge to Godard.

Does anybody from HockeyFights.com care who wins the game, or is it just the fights that matter?

The Penguins have recently started a tradition where a few lucky season ticket holders get their tickets delivered by a player. In this forum, a member announced last week that he got a call from the Penguins asking him to be home the following week, which was yesterday, at a certain time to get his special delivery from a player.

They don’t tell him which one, so the speculation begins. Will it be a superstar like Sydney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, or Marc-Andre Fleury? The anticipation begins.

It ended up not being a well known player, Jeff Taffe, but as one poster said, it was better than the mailman.
